This is a fun and informative Presentation on the use and possibilities of GPS as an aid to Navigation on the Inland Lakes.   Consider it a 'hitch hikers guide' to the simple use of GPS on an Inland boat.  The examples are taken from Ireland's Shannon Navigation system.  GPS is easy to use, but most of us have been put off by Gadgets with too many buttons and knobs.  Allay your reservations, GPS has moved on a long way in the past few years, is now ready for the mass market.  Have that late meal in Garrykennedy, and still get back safely to your berth on Lough Derg!  Or maybe like me, your eye sight is not what it once was, but the GPS gives the reassurance and comfort of confirming where you really are on the Lake.  Venture out into the Shannon Estuary perhaps to Foynes, Kilrush, Fenit or Dingle  with confidence in your position.
Includes DVD screening of IWAI 2004 Shannon Estuary Trip including Ardnacrusha and Photo Presentation of IWAI Dingle Trip 2005
