Oracle 9i SQL Statement Tuning
This (3/5 day) course is tailored for developers to write efficient, well-tuned SQL statements. An in-depth discussion of the Oracle optimiser is considered including cost based optimisation, optimisation modes and altering the behaviour of the optimiser. Various utilities that assist in SQL statement tuning are also presented including EXPLAIN PLAN, TKPROF and AUTOTRACE. Special techniques such as histograms and speciality indexes are also considered.
